Baseball Recap: Science Leadership Academy Comes Up Short

Science Leadership Academy had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-4 to make it five. They fell 8-4 to Nueva Esperanza. Science Leadership Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Nueva Esperanza apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Nueva Esperanza's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Nueva Esperanza's part, Lian Romero-Hernandez was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Romero-Hernandez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Colon, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI and two doubles.

Science Leadership Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 16-5 loss against Northeast on the 10th. As for Nueva Esperanza, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-1 defeat against Franklin Towne on the 10th.
