Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Holy Ghost Prep

Penncrest typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Holy Ghost Prep proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Penncrest Lions with a 52-48 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Firebirds' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Lions are ranked 34th).

Holy Ghost Prep has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points over those games. As for Penncrest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-4.

As of now, neither Holy Ghost Prep nor Penncrest have any future games scheduled.
