Basketball Recap: Jace Riggan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Florida Christian over Godby

North Florida Christian lost against Godby back in January of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The North Florida Christian Eagles lost to the Godby Cougars at home by a 84-68 margin. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Cougars are ranked 101st).

North Florida Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jace Riggan, who posted 16 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Another player making a difference was Nyle Wright, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points.

This is the second loss in a row for North Florida Christian and nudges their season record down to 7-14. As for Godby, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.

North Florida Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 72-35 win against Jefferson County on the 31st. Godby has also already played their next contest, a 55-47 loss against Rickards on the 31st.
