Soccer Game Preview: Sultan vs. Cedarcrest

Sultan hasn't had much luck against Cedarcrest recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Turks will take on the Red Wolves at 11:00 a.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sultan is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Nooksack Valley with a sharp 5-1 victory on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Sultan with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Cedarcrest had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it 13 on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Cedarcrest's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Foster are ranked 175th).

Sultan's record now sits at 4-5-3. As for Cedarcrest, their record is now 14-1-1.

Sultan suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Cedarcrest when the teams last played back in March. Can the Turks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
