Volleyball Recap: Auburndale Triumphs

It was a Battle of the Birds when Auburndale duked it out with Athens on Saturday. The Eagles came out on top against the Bluejays by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now won three in a row.

Auburndale easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-10.

Sidney Wolff paced Auburndale's offense, picking up nine kills. Wolff got some help from Chesney Nagel and her 17 assists. Jalynn Scherr controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Auburndale's victory bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Athens, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

Auburndale has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Augusta on the 20th. As for Athens, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Phillips on the 23rd.
