Basketball Recap: Tarpon Springs Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Tarpon Springs can now relate to. They were dealt a 96-35 defeat at the hands of the Tampa Catholic Crusaders on Monday. The Spongers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it 16 in a row.

Tarpon Springs' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aden Walker, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Feliciono, who put up ten points.

Tampa Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mehki White, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds White has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was K.J. Morgan, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards.

Tarpon Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-21. As for Tampa Catholic, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-9.

As of now, neither Tarpon Springs nor Tampa Catholic have any future games scheduled.
