Baseball Game Preview: Chandler Wolves vs. Mesquite Wildcats

Chandler is 0-3 against Mesquite since April of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Chandler Wolves will be taking part in a tournament against the Mesquite Wildcats at 3:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

After dropping their season opener at home, Mesquite is headed out to face a Wolves squad ready to give their home crowd a win. Chandler lost 9-1 to O'Connor on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolves have suffered since February 22, 2024.

Chandler got a good showing from Zhaid Diaz, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Diaz has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Thomas Bass was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Mesquite had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 12-7 to Perry on Wednesday.

Noah Forney made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kash Rogers, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
