Recap: Mount Calvary Christian Warriors vs. New Life Christian Academy Warriors
On Friday, Mount Calvary Christian had to suffer through a rough 85-25 loss at the hands of New Life Christian Academy. Mount Calvary Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-9.
Leading New Life Christian Academy to victory were Ty'lik Taylor and Jamir Loftin. Taylor scored 27 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Loftin scored 28 points along with seven assists and four steals. Loftin is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Clayton Hedgepeth, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Mount Calvary Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for New Life Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Calvary Christian will take on Sheets Memorial Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Sheets Memorial Christian has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 14. As for New Life Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Fellowship Baptist Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
