Football Recap: Wolfe City Takes a Loss

Wolfe City was the 45-27 winner over Timpson when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wolves fell 61-48 to the Bears on Thursday. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Wolfe City lost, don't look at Hd Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 205 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Davis' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 15th straight game with at least 110 rushing yards dating back to last season. Wolfe City also got help from Daniel Guillen, who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.

Wolfe City's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Timpson, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Looking ahead, Wolfe City will head out on the road to take on Nocona at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Wolves will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.75 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Timpson, they will be playing at home against Hooks at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
