Preview: Hudsonville Eagles vs. Rockford Rams
Hudsonville is 1-9 against Rockford since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hudsonville Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Rockford Rams at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hudsonville had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Jenison by a score of 21-14 on Thursday. The victory was just what Hudsonville needed coming off of a 27-7 defeat in their prior matchup.
Meanwhile, Rockford put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They put the hurt on Grandville with a sharp 34-13 victory. Fans of Rockford have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Drake Irwin looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 213 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Camden Kruisenga also helped out with an impressive 180 receiving yards.
Hudsonville's victory on Thursday bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Rockford, their win was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0.
Hudsonville came up short against Rockford in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 42-31. Thankfully for Hudsonville, Mac VandenHout (who rushed for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time.
