Basketball Recap: Webber Takes a Loss

Webber played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Sandoval Blackhawks 58-31. The Trojans have struggled against the Blackhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Amiya Ray was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 15 boards for Sandoval. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ray has scored at least a third of Sandoval's points. Jenna Howell was another key player, going 6 for 7 en route to 13 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Webber's defeat dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Sandoval, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Coming up, Webber will be playing at home against Dieterich at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandoval does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
