Basketball Recap: Holly Piles Up the Points Against Swink

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Holly on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Swink Lions out of the water with an 83-43 final score. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

Holly's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Eaton, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Eaton has scored at least a third of Holly's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drayden Williams, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 boards.

Holly was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They racked up eight more assists than Swink's also-impressive total of ten.

Despite the loss, Swink still got an impressive performance from Nate Cabrera, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Swink is 2-1 when Cabrera posts 20 or more points, but 2-10 otherwise. Landon Mills was another key player, putting up eight points and nine boards.

Holly has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points over those games. As for Swink, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

Holly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 76-36 victory against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] on the 8th. As for Swink, they have also already played their next match, an 88-37 loss against McClave on the 13th.
