Baseball Recap: Lawrence Takes a Loss

Lawrence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 8-3 to the Fennville Blackhawks. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blackhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

David Miller was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Jake Theragene also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lawrence's loss dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Fennville, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-17.

Looking ahead, Lawrence will welcome Howardsville Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fennville, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 victory against Saugatuck on the 15th.
