After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Weston, Newton South was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Malden Catholic Lancers with a sharp 11-3 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Newton South's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-5. As for Malden Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-17.

Coming up, Newton South will face off against Concord-Carlisle at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Malden Catholic, they will host Mystic Valley Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight.
