Soccer Game Preview: Conrad vs. Kimball

The Conrad Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the Kimball Knights at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Conrad will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.

Last Saturday, Conrad didn't have quite enough to beat Carter and fell 5-4. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Chargers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Cowboys are ranked 510th).

Conrad hit Carter with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Pha Sat, Hilario Catalan, Elkin Zaldivar, and Gianfranco Amaro.

Meanwhile, Kimball had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 8-0 win. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by three goals or more this season.

Kimball pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 22 goals over those six contests. As for Conrad, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-2.
