Basketball Recap: McCreary Central Takes a Loss

McCreary Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Southwestern Warriors, falling 59-34. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Warriors are ranked 41st).

Kinsley Molden was her usual excellent self, going 8 for 13 on her way to 24 points for Southwestern. The matchup was Molden's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Dye, who posted 11 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.

McCreary Central's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Southwestern, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

McCreary Central has already played their next game (against East Jessamine), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Southwestern will face off against Anderson County at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
