Soccer Game Preview: Grand County vs. Beaver

The Grand County Red Devils will head out on the road to square off against the Beaver Beavers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Grand County sitting on seven straight wins and Beaver on six.

If Beaver heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Grand County took over last week. The Red Devils' defense stepped up to hand San Juan a 1-0 shutout on Monday. Grand County's winning goal came courtesy of Gemma Phillips.

Grand County's lineup was just a bit different on Monday as Hannah Fisher got a bit more time on the pitch (80 vs. her season average of 43.9). Fisher made the most of the opportunity, putting up one assist A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, Beaver hadn't done well against Millard recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Beavers had just enough and edged out the Eagles 2-1. That's two games straight that Beaver have won by just one goal.

Grand County's record is now 13-3. As for Beaver, their record now sits at 12-5.

Grand County came up short against Beaver in their previous matchup back in September, falling 4-2. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
