Basketball Game Preview: Waterford Wolverines vs. Whitnall Falcons

The Waterford Wolverines will take on the Whitnall Falcons on Thursday. Waterford knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matchups -- so hopefully Whitnall likes a good challenge.

Waterford is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They took down Waukesha West 63-46. Given Waterford's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Waukesha West is ranked 165th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Whitnall earned an 86-76 victory over New Berlin West on Saturday. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Whitnall's victory bumped their record up to 16-9. As for Waterford, their win bumped their record up to 23-3.

Everything went Waterford's way against Whitnall in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Waterford made off with a 76-55 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waterford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
