Basketball Recap: Clarkston Takes a Loss

Clarkston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 21st straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 94-32 loss at the hands of the Southwest DeKalb Panthers. The Angoras were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-16.

Southwest DeKalb was led to victory by Jackson Ushery and Messiah Mergan. Ushery went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points, while Mergan went 6 for 10 en route to 19 points and three steals. That's the most points Ushery has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aaron Burks, who put up nine points.

Clarkston's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Southwest DeKalb, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

As of now, neither Clarkston nor Southwest DeKalb have any future games scheduled.
