Softball Preview: Vilonia Eagles vs. Sylvan Hills Bears        
        
		
            Vilonia is on  an  eight-game streak of home wins, while Sylvan Hills is on  an  eight-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Eagles will welcome the Bears  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (Vilonia 3.7, Sylvan Hills 1.8) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
Vilonia is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another  one of Arkansas' top teams: Valley View, who was ranked 25th  at the time (Vilonia was ranked 13th). The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  an  8-6  win over the Blazers  on Friday.

 The team  relied heavily on  Lila Toll, who  went 4-for-5 with two  triples, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Ralyn Kelley, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  RBI.
Meanwhile, Sylvan Hills hadn't done well against Beebe recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Tuesday. The Bears' pitcher stepped up to hand the Badgers  a   10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 12 contests by ten  runs or more  so far this season.

 Sylvan Hills is  on a roll lately: they've  won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Vilonia, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
