Basketball Game Preview: McIntosh Chiefs vs. Dutchtown Bulldogs

The McIntosh Chiefs are taking a road trip to square off against the Dutchtown Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, McIntosh didn't have too much trouble with Newnan as they won 58-43. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Chiefs' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Cougars are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, Dutchtown waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 58-50 win over the Mustangs. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly eight points.

McIntosh is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.5 points per game. As for Dutchtown, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

McIntosh took their win against Dutchtown in their previous meeting back in January of 2016 by a conclusive 79-57. The rematch might be a little tougher for McIntosh since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
