Basketball Recap: Lakeland Has No Trouble Against Saunders Trades & Tech

With a playoff win on the line, Lakeland rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Saunders Trades & Tech Blue Devils as they made off with a 61-36 victory. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 787th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lakeland has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points over those games. Saunders Trades & Tech is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

As of now, neither Lakeland nor Saunders Trades & Tech have any future games scheduled.
