Volleyball Game Preview: Madera Coyotes vs. Sanger West Hornets

After both having extra time off, the Madera Coyotes and the Sanger West Hornets will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madera is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Madera came up short against Justin Garza last Thursday, falling 3-0.

Madera took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-17, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Sanger West hadn't done well against Edison recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Tigers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Hornets have posted since March 25th.

Sanger West took Edison into a fifth set where they got it done with a three-point win. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 24-26, 25-21, 15-12.

Sanger West is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-12 record this season. As for Madera, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-20.

Madera skirted past Sanger West 2-1 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Do the Coyotes have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
