South Pointe has gone 10-0 against Lancaster recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The South Pointe Stallions will host the Lancaster Bruins at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in South Pointe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Last Thursday, South Pointe took their contest with ease, bagging a 69-12 win over York. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 34 points or more this season.
South Pointe found their leader in sophomore JaNyia Cunningham, who went 10 for 17 on her way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Lucas, who went 7 for 16 on her way to 18 points and five steals.
South Pointe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Lancaster entered their contest against A.C. Flora on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Lancaster lost to A.C. Flora at home by a 57-40 margin.
Despite the defeat, Lancaster saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ava Wilson went 6 of 10 on her way to 12 points and three steals.
South Pointe's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for Lancaster, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: South Pointe has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Lancaster struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
