Basketball Recap: High Point Comes Up Short

High Point played a tough match on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 65-5 loss at the hands of the Parkdale Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Panthers are ranked 70th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkdale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zenai Ferebee, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards. The game was Ferebee's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Nalani Miller, who posted 11 points in addition to eight steals and six rebounds.

High Point dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Parkdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

High Point has already played their next matchup (against Crossland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Parkdale, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 47-45 defeat against Eleanor Roosevelt on the 10th.
