Basketball Recap: Ella Dowler Key Part of Team Effort in Cadets Win

Fort Frye had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Federal Hocking Lancers 57-43 on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Cadets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Fort Frye's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Dowler led the charge by putting up 15 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Elle Casto, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Federal Hocking now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Fort Frye will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Marietta at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The contest will give the Cadets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Federal Hocking, they will welcome Alexander at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
