Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wauconda). They never let the North Chicago Warhawks get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Monday. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Wauconda's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while North Chicago are ranked 360th).

Wauconda's offense was hitting North Chicago from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Isabelle Gerle led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Wauconda pushed their record up to 10-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four contests. As for North Chicago, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wauconda will challenge Mundelein at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Chicago, they will face off against Westlake Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
