Baseball Recap: Philadelphia Academy Charter's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Philadelphia Academy Charter had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the MAST Charter II Voyagers. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by ten runs or more this season.

Jameson Basso was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Lutz, who went 4-for-5 with two doubles.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Philadelphia Academy Charter kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win was the fourth in a row for Philadelphia Academy Charter, bringing their record up to 7-4. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for MAST Charter II, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Coming up, Philadelphia Academy Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Masterman at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. MAST Charter II does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
