Northeastern recap October 8, 2013
Marquette extended the longest winning streak in Northeastern this week by beating North Shore Country Day, 49-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Crusaders.
Luther North scaled the state rankings by moving to 419 from 469 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats were able to move up by besting Hiawatha 46-14.
The Hawks' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mike Mercado threw for 206 and 1 touchdown and Jace Williams had 92 yards receiving. On the ground Nick Doolittle chipped in 23 yards. Doolittle helped Hiawatha's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 67 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Westminster Christian's Max Tucker and Scotty Graziano have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-0 quarterback Tucker has thrown for 1,014 yards this season, while Graziano has 27 catches for 469 yards. Sean Donnelly's team's Mercado leads the league in rushing yards with 313.
A big matchup in Northeastern this week will be when Marquette takes on Mooseheart. Tom Jobst's team is currently in first, while the Red Ramblers are in third.
Rick Ludwig's team made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,244 from 12,417. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 46-14 victory over the Hawks last week.
