Volleyball Recap: Nordonia Starts Season with Win on the Road

Nordonia had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the Independence Blue Devils with a sharp 3-0 victory on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won five in a row.

Nordonia walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 26-24, 25-22.

Ej Sopata paced Nordonia's offense, picking up 23 kills. Sopata got some help from Zac Fernandez and his 31 assists. Sopata was also solid from the service line: he led the team with seven aces.

Nordonia will head out on the road to challenge Jackson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Independence, they will welcome Brunswick at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
