Baseball Recap: Weatherford Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Weatherford waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Guyer Wildcats get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Kangaroos have posted since March 6th.

Weatherford got a great performance from Shane Everhart as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 6.1 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Everhart a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Rhys Vindiola, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Weatherford's record now sits at 10-12-1. As for Guyer, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weatherford will host Lake Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Guyer, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Braswell at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
