Soccer Recap: Poplarville Takes a Loss

Poplarville lost against Pass Christian back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Poplarville Hornets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pass Christian Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Pirates are ranked 32nd).

Poplarville's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-6-1. As for Pass Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4-1.

Poplarville will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Long Beach at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Pass Christian will take on Harrison Central in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th.
