The Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans will head out to take on the Clover Garden School Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Wesleyan Christian Academy hadn't beaten Charlotte Country Day School on the road since March 15, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. Wesleyan Christian Academy blew past Charlotte Country Day School 11-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Maris Morgan was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexis Emery, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Peyton Martin also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Wesleyan Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clover Garden School). They put the hurt on Leadership Academy with a sharp 21-10 victory on Friday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Gracie Hensley made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Hensley was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with five RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, Cadence Collins was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Shepherd, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.
Wesleyan Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. Clover Garden School's record is now 8-3.
