Basketball Recap: Brookfield Comes Up Short

Brookfield won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They were dealt a 70-37 defeat at the hands of the Green City Gophers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 458th, while the Gophers are ranked 70th).

Brookfield has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Green City, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Salisbury the next time they take the court. Green City will host Salisbury at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Brookfield will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
