Basketball Recap: Chase Mitchell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wootton over Poolesville + How To Watch

Wootton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 52-39 to the Poolesville Falcons. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2018.

Wootton's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Mitchell, who posted 12 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Winokur, who had eight points.

Wootton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Poolesville, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-1-1.

Looking ahead, Wootton will take on Magruder at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Patriots' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. Poolesville has already played their next contest (against Blair), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
