After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Liberty, Kearney was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 68-40 win over the Shawnee Mission North Bison. The Bulldogs have beaten the Bison the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bison has come to flipping the script.

Kearney's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kennedi Casey, who shot 88% from the field on her way to 21 points and seven rebounds. Those 21 points gave Casey a new career-high. Addison Taylor was another key player, going 6-for-9 en route to 17 points.

Kearney was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They racked up nine more assists than Shawnee Mission North's also-impressive total of 12.

Shawnee Mission North's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rey-Auna Haywood, who posted 15 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Tamiah Washington, who earned 14 points.

The victory got Kearney back to even at 1-1. As for Shawnee Mission North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
