Baseball Recap: Harlandale Comes Up Short

Harlandale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 11-7 to the Winn Mavericks. The Indians were not able to make up for their loss to the Mavericks from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Maurice Medina and Isaac Villarreal did some serious damage despite the final result: Medina scored two runs while going 3-for-5, while Villarreal scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Medina has posted since back in March of 2024. Ayden Castro was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Harlandale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Harlandale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Winn, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Harlandale has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Southwest Legacy on the 7th. As for Winn, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 win against Uvalde on the 7th.
