Football Recap: Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves vs. St. Francis Mariners
Living Word Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 50-18 defeat at the hands of the St. Francis Mariners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Timberwolves of the 64-34 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Living Word Lutheran wouldn't let St. Francis keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Ben Jones, Chayse Vahsholtz, and Charlie Kelly picked up one apiece. Jones also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making six total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
Living Word Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for St. Francis, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Living Word Lutheran will face off against Kenosha Christian Life at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Francis, they have the luxury of staying home for another week and will welcome Pius XI Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
