Football Game Preview: St. Paul's Crusaders vs. Boys Latin Lakers

The St. Paul's Crusaders will take on the Boys Latin Lakers at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as St. Paul's comes in on seven and Boys Latin on five.

St. Paul's will bounce into Friday's contest after beating John Carroll, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Crusaders walked away with a 21-14 win over the Patriots on Friday.

The critical scores for St. Paul's came from Landan Blue, Bobby Cunningham, and Andrew Cooper.

Meanwhile, Boys Latin made easy work of St. John's Catholic Prep on Friday and carried off a 34-8 victory. That 26 point margin sets a new team best for the Lakers this season.

Boys Latin found their leader in sophomore Alonzo Wallace, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Wallace is becoming a predictor of the Lakers' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't).

Boys Latin's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for St. Paul's, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

St. Paul's didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Boys Latin in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 13-7 win. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Lakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
