Soccer Game Preview: Newman Smith vs. Creekview

Newman Smith is on a six-game streak of home losses, and Creekview a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Newman Smith Trojans will welcome the Creekview Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Newman Smith has given up an average of 4.3 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Friday just wasn't the day for Newman Smith's offense. They came up short against Highland Park on Friday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 512th, while the Scots are ranked 18th).

Meanwhile, Creekview kept a clean sheet against The Colony on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Cougars.

Creekview's victory bumped their record up to 3-11-3. As for Newman Smith, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17-1.
