Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Carroll Patriots vs. Cardinal O'Hara Lions

The Archbishop Carroll Patriots will head out on the road to challenge the Cardinal O'Hara Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Cardinal O'Hara took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Archbishop Carroll, who comes in off a win.

Archbishop Carroll was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Upper Darby. The victory was some much needed relief for the Patriots as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Max Barnes tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Archbishop Carroll let Jalyn Tidwell and Nick Gilroy run wild. Tidwell went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Gilroy scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Cardinal O'Hara came up short against Hatboro-Horsham on Friday, falling 7-1.

Cardinal O'Hara saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sean Vaughn, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Archbishop Carroll's record now sits at 2-3. As for Cardinal O'Hara, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Archbishop Carroll couldn't quite get it done against Cardinal O'Hara when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-3. Can Archbishop Carroll avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
