Baseball Recap: Swansea Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Swansea won the last time they faced Wagener-Salley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Swansea Tigers walked away with a 5-2 win over the Wagener-Salley War Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Daniel Graddick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Jacob Hair was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two triples and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kendall Wright, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Swansea hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in seven consecutive games.

Swansea pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Wagener-Salley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.
