Basketball Recap: Hope Christian Falls Short of Kirtland Central in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hope Christian can now relate to. They were dealt a 58-18 loss at the hands of the Kirtland Central Broncos on Tuesday. The contest marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Hope Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Louisa Landavazo, who posted six points in addition to seven steals and six boards. Landavazo has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Adalynn Day, who earned four points and nine rebounds.

Hope Christian's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Kirtland Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-3 record this season.

Hope Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kirtland Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 51-38 win against Valencia on the 13th.
