Waynesboro and Buffalo Gap are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Little Giants will host the Bison at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Waynesboro and three for Buffalo Gap.

On Tuesday, Waynesboro didn't have quite enough to beat Staunton and fell 5-4.

Jackson Powell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk).

At the plate, Waynesboro saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haden Morris, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Morris' first of the season. Another was Trenton Carson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Buffalo Gap fell victim to Wilson Memorial and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Green Hornets, falling 19-0.

Buffalo Gap's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Waynesboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Waynesboro took their win against Buffalo Gap when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. Do the Little Giants have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bison turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
