Basketball Recap: Gold-Burg Comes Up Short

Gold-Burg lost against Forestburg back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gold-Burg Bears lost 63-43 to the Forestburg Longhorns. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-15.

Forestburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyler Willett, who posted 29 points. Those 29 points gave Willett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jesus Sanchez, who scored 18 points.

Gold-Burg has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Forestburg, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gold-Burg will host Bellevue at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Forestburg, they will square off against Prairie Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Forestburg's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Prairie Valley has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
