Basketball Recap: Rutland Hurricanes vs. Pike County Pirates
Rutland was the 75-44 winner over Pike County when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Rutland Hurricanes fell 68-61 to the Pike County Pirates on Tuesday. The Hurricanes just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.
Leading Pike County to victory were Yadi Rosado and Nazarious McDowell. Rosado dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards, while McDowell posted 19 points and three steals. Those 15 rebounds gave Rosado a new career-high. Brayden Head was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Rutland's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Pike County, their win ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-18.
Rutland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pike County, they and Jackson will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Pike County is facing Jackson at the right time seeing as Jackson is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
