            Softball Recap: Kewanee Boilermakers vs. Farmington Farmers        
        
		
        
        
            For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Kewanee and Farmington meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again  on Tuesday. The Boilermakers fell just short of the Farmers by a score of  11-10. The Boilermakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Farmers apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in April of 2024.
 Remy Hicks put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she  pitched 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  a single  hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Rylee Blades and  Kalleigh Gale stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Blades  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Gale  went 4-for-5 with four  runs, two  doubles,  and one  triple. Gale continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's  played.  Audrey Clucas also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
Kewanee's loss dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Farmington, their win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 4-5.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kewanee will host Hall  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Farmington, they will be playing at home against Illini West  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.47  runs per game on average), something the Farmers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
