Northwest Christian had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Tanque Verde Hawks 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Crusaders as they're now sitting on four straight.
Northwest Christian wouldn't go down easily and took Tanque Verde into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 24-26, 18-25, 15-10.
Northwest Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 17 consecutive matchups.
Despite the defeat, Tanque Verde saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alexia Adams had 18 digs. Another player making a difference was Ava Cheney, who hit 71.4% for ten kills and 14 digs, five aces, and three blocks.
