It was a good run, but La Jolla Country Day unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 8-4 to the Maranatha Christian Eagles. The Torreys were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

Santino Grasso and Jackson Norum did some serious damage despite the final result: Grasso went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Norum got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Keenan Ward, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

La Jolla Country Day's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Maranatha Christian, their record is now 7-20.

Coming up, La Jolla Country Day will square off against La Jolla at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Torreys are facing the Vikings at the right time seeing as the Vikings are stuck on a three-game losing streak. Maranatha Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
