Softball Recap: Westfield Area Comes Up Short

Westfield Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 15-4 to the Portage Warriors. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 23-6 to the Warriors when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Izzy Nelson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Grant, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Westfield Area's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Portage, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westfield Area will take on Princeton/Green Lake at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Portage, they will face off against Stoughton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
